Last Look: History Gets Colorful
I love this ,these pics are awesome! I have many turn of the century photos of ancestors that could be colorized! Thanks for sharing!

Operation Crossroads hits home for me :(  In high school I watched 60 minutes and they interviewed a Japanese soldier who had been stationed in the centre of Hiroshima when the A-bomb hit.  I was writing an essay on the topic and the reporter gave me his name and address. Thomas Takeshita and I are now friends and even send Christmas cards. His ordeal was so frightening and plain unimaginable - war should never have "colourful" pictures as it is such a dark and somber place. (Love Sanna's other works though - artistic prowess is such a gift eh!)

What a beautiful talent to bring such life to these photos. I am always in awe of what human beings can conceive of artistically. I especially like the photo of Mark Twain. He would have been an interesting guy to know!

Georgous!

both

There's nothing like a classic black and white photo.  This is a gift, but I prefer the original photos as they are.  That's just me!

i prefer the black and white but the restorations are pretty cool

Nice idea, it's ok if you want to restore original photos, but I LOVE black and white photos, they represent a nostalgic past. Very beautiful Anna Frank and C.Darwin photos, realistic.

I think so beatiful the photos with colors, amazing change,I like very  much ,ty interesting.bye .smiley-kiss.gif

The photos with colors are nice but I think are more beautiful pictures in black and white because they bring out the true essence of a person

It's always good to make change & to see all the different possibilities of how an old photo can be transformed using technology. Kids today are so influenced by television, black & white photos don't appeal to them in history so i guess seeing history in colour could make a big impact on their education. Kudos miss Dullaway ;)

I can't decide.  The black and whit is so classic, yet I like to see the color because it might be just that much closer to what they really looked like.  smiley-cool.gif

I think it is a great idea to finally see your ancestors in color after all they weren't black and white they were in color , Nowe you can see who had blue eyes and hair colors and such. thanks Mr. P for sharing!

Not important....

Wow these are pretty amazing! I am really blown away with them. As for prefrence, personally I like to se photos either way. When I do my own photos for my blog I choose if I rather see a photo in black and white. Some good examples are in this link from my Flickr page. http://flic.kr/p/bofwS8 Oh, I guess you can say that our cat matches our carpet a bit too. Just as long as she stays rolled over on to her back.
