I hope you guys can help me- and I hope Ty will chime in as well- since he must have seen a lot on EMHE- I'll try to keep this short and sweet

My boss has decided to seperate 1 room into 2- 1st off he didn't frame the wall correctly only securing 3 studs behind an 8 foot sheetrock board then tried to sandwich/shove in 2 4.5 foot tall studs in between to keep the "middles from bending".  Then he didn't tape the seems just mudded over them.  Being an avid DIYer myself,  he now has asked me how he can fix the cracks that keep happening- my first response was tear it down and start again- but he wants to know if he can tape over the mud would it fix the cracks or can he put up really heavy wallpaper and hide the cracks-will that hold it. 

I know, I know a Disaster DIY in the making but I'm at a real loss for words at what to tell him.  So any input would be most helpful!

I've been able to speak with friends in the construction industry- they all suggested he do it again or at the very least tape and re-mud the whole wall.  So far nothing's been done. Oh well.
